St. Martha's Altar Guild of Our Lady of Walsingham is a service organization formed to serve the priests, the deacons, and the parish by preparing the sanctuary for liturgical events and by caring for the wares necessary for our liturgies. It is the oldest and largest organization of the parish, dating back to the earliest year of 1982 before Our Lady of Walsingham was formally erected as a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and later as the Cathedral Church of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. It reflects the Anglican tradition of preparing the altar and sanctuary for Mass, caring for the vestments and altar linens, as well as the frontals and falls, providing flowers for the altar, taking care of the candles throughout the church, caring for the holy water fonts, polishing the silver and brass appointments, preparing the church for special seasons of the church year, veiling the church during Lent, coordinating weddings, and preparing for funerals and baptisms. We are always looking for new members. Training is provided. Contact Rebecca Hill if you would like more information.
