St. Martha's Altar Guild is a service organisation of ladies formed to assist the clergy by preparing for each mass, abluting all vessels and linens after the conclusion of each mass and for taking care of what is needed in the sacristy in order to be prepared for each sacrifice of the mass. It is the oldest organisation of the parish, dating back to 1982 before Our Lady of Walsingham was formally erected as a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and later as the Cathedral church of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
St. Martha's Altar Guild reflects the Anglican tradition of preparing the vessels and credence table for all masses, caring for the sacred vessels, the small linens and the vestments. We work according to a regular schedule, either once a month or more frequently if a lady is available to do so.
If you are interested in serving, please contact Ruth Mack through the parish office 713.683.9407.
We welcome new members.
