Needlework Guild

This Guild has worked for several years stitching the beautiful kneelers on the sanctuary steps, at the communion rail, in the Holy House Chapel, and, most recently, cushions in the chancel.  The designs for the kneelers incorporate traditional Christian symbols and iconography specific to Our Lady of Walsingham.

In the Holy House Chapel, which is a Marian Chapel, the kneelers depict the 20 mysteries of the rosary, as well as floral designs associated with Mary.

Chrismons for a Chrismon tree at Walsingham was another one of our projects.  Chrismons comes from the Latin "Christi monogramma' meaning monogram of Christ. These tree ornaments proclaim our Lord through the use of symbols depicting his life and saving acts and are hung on an evergreen tree symbolizing eternal life. 

Recently we began a needlework project for the Kneelers in the Oratory of the new Chancery building for the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
