What is it? What happens? How will I feel?

Come to a 2nd Saturday each month Parish Prayer Day!
Who? You, your family, friends, your parish ministry group, clergy, Yes, Bring your entire family!
When? 2nd Saturdays of each month, any time between 7 am - 2 pm
Where? 4600 Gulf Fwy/Cullen exit to Planned Parenthood. Take the south bound Cullen exit frontage road over the bridge, immediate right on Eleanor Tinsley and right on the first street, Gulf Crest.
Parking? Free street parking is available along Gulf Crest, & Eleanor Tinsley. Parking in Planned Parenthood lots is considered trespassing.
What? Quietly stand & pray on the public sidewalk only, outside their property. We pray for all entering and leaving, for the babies at risk of abortion and for all who work and volunteer there.
Why? Your presence in peaceful prayer extends love, courage, hope, and graces to obtain the help God intends for each soul from a trained sidewalk counselor.
Attire & prep: Dress for the weather, hats, sunscreen, sweaters, umbrellas, water bottles
Bring: a rosary, bible, or prayer book
How? Pray with a group or silently. Avoid socializing, eating or distracting behavior. Signs offering help and hope are available for those who wish to hold them. Only approved signs may be used.
What to expect? Others come out to pray from various churches and youth groups. Sidewalk counselors offer brochures and counsel those entering or leaving who open their car windows for information and help. Pray especially while this happens that God may reach his beloved souls through their efforts. Volunteers in Planned Parenthood vests are on their driveways and are unfriendly. We remain prayerful for them, extra friendly, kind and gracious with the love and charity of Christ for each of them. They may ridicule counselors or try to dissuade cars from stopping to talk with counselors. This is their customary uncharitable behavior and nothing our sidewalk counselors are surprised or alarmed about. Abortion is their business and sidewalk counselors offer pregnancy choices other than abortion for those in crisis which affects their financial bottom line.
How will I feel? You may feel like you have been on a mini retreat when you witness how your prayers are enshrined in the lives of those who are touched by them. Your heart will be moved and resolved to come again to "feed the poor," with the love of Christ for them; the languishing souls who hunger for the love of God and find it in your prayerful presence.
Planned Parenthood is open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, 7 a.m. - 12 noon.
